NAB 2008 was huge success for Musicam USA, which celebrated its first anniversary of its third generation of IP codecs (Suprima, RoadWarrior, SupriMAX 14-card chassis and newcomer SupriMax 1U 4-card chassis). Since 2007, Musicam USA’s sales have tripled, as clients from around the globe have been trading up their Primas for Suprimas (IP and ISDN connectivity) and broadcasting highly anticipated sporting and news events via RoadWarrior.

We were thrilled to see new and familiar faces stopping by our booth, inquiring about IP and discussing cost-saving and efficient programming solutions. We engaged in lively discussions about how our Suprimas are HD radio compatible and feature real-time duplex stereo audio, real-time monitoring of the jitter and Quality of Service (QOS), NAT traversal, maximizes bandwidth pathways, is SIP compatible, and is AAC-HE algorithm friendly. In fact, a representative from Clear Channel Satellite told us about Suprima’s network analyzer and how it recently solved a telco service issue for him, and stated:
"We are 100% sold on Suprima! It is an excellent product!"

MEET OUR NEWEST MEMBER OF THE IP CODEC FAMILY!

Clients are equally smitten by our RoadWarrior, and while at NAB, Musicam USA unveiled its latest incarnation, the ultra portable RoadWarrior LC. Much like the current portable IP RoadWarrior, the latest version sports SIP compatibility, multiple algorithm support (including AAC-HE), NAT traversal, and a compact 2 channel mixer/2 channel IFB talkback, and will soon be able to establish a connection via Wi-Fi/WiMax and 3G cellular data networks.

“The new RoadWarrior LC offers maximum flexibility to program directors and engineers broadcasting from a remote site regarding connectivity, and as with all IP products in our repertoire, it saves stations the hefty cost of long-distance bills,” president Alvin Sookoo states. “Our products equip managers with the ability to break programming boundaries and execute multiple broadcasts with simplistic solutions.”

Whether you are at the exploration stage of IP or distributing content to a network of affiliates from a remote site, another benefit of Musicam USA is the complimentary education it offers to customize a solution for each station. “We will hold your hand from A to Z when it comes to IP,” Sookoo adds, “Which is just one of the reasons why we are now the world leader in IP codecs.”

MUSICAM HAPPENINGS…WE PUT THE ‘IP’ IN VIP ACCESS!!!

Bringing broadcasting to the fore, Suprima delivered every swing and putt at the 2008 Golf Masters in Augusta to stations in England for the BBC, right up to Trevor Immelman’s ‘masterful’ win.

When the Pope made an historic visit to New York, 1010 Wins chose the RoadWarrior (instead of a separate ISDN codec and two mixers) to broadcast his epic journey from St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers to the bleachers of Yankees Stadium to Ground Zero at the World Trade Center site. The audio quality was impeccable and multiple reporters were linked in without a breadth of delay!

In addition to Clear Channel Satellite, we’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome newcomers XM Satellite Radio, Onstream Media, Crain Management in Arkansas, the Middle East Broadcasting Network, and Solutions Broadcasting in Canada to our IP family, as they’ve recently purchased several Suprimas and RoadWarriors.
