"It’s all in one! It’s not only ISDN but also IP. The Suprima packages it together, so it’s all in one! I highly recommend Suprima to all Japanese radio stations! "
  -- Hideaki ODA,
    Tokyo FM Broadcasting Co.
Are you going to BroadcastAsia? MUSICAM USA is! We celebrated the first anniversary of our third generation of IP codecs (Suprima, RoadWarrior, SupriMAX 14-card chassis and newcomer SupriMax 1U 4-card chassis) at NAB, and will be unveiling the latest version of the acclaimed RoadWarior – the portable, wireless RoadWarrior LC at BroadcastAsia, booth 7J1-04.

Since 2007, MusicamUSA has firmly established itself as the leader in IP codecs, as clients from around the globe have been trading up their Primas for Suprimas (IP and ISDN connectivity), and broadcasting many of the most unforgettable sporting and news events via RoadWarrior. Some of these include: the New York City Marathon, numerous boxing events, the Super Bowl, the Academy Awards, and Pope Benedict XVI’s journey to the United States.

WHAT WE’RE HEARING FROM YOU/WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU

"IP and reliability are the top requests we’re hearing from clients all around the globe right now," MusicamUSA President/CEO Alvin Sookoo states. "Because of our rich history of IP codecs, we are able to offer unparalleled customer service. We’ll guide you through the setup the reliability factors, all technical issues, and your connectivity options."

We were thrilled to engage in lively discussions at NAB about IP and its cost-saving benefits and efficient programming solutions. Many were already familiar with our Suprimas and how they are HD radio compatible and feature real-time duplex stereo audio, real-time monitoring of the jitter and Quality of Service (QOS), and NAT Traversal. We also heard rave reviews of how it maximizes bandwidth pathways, is SIP compatible, and is AAC-HE algorithm friendly.

Hideaki Oda of Tokyo FM Broadcasting Co. shared how Suprima backed up a network of 37 stations, without one blip of interruption when his satellite link went down on more than one occasion:

"We use the IP/ATM backbone network via NTT (Nippon Telegraph & Telephone) for our satellite backup. In Japan the humidity is very high in the rainy season, so very frequently, the satellite drops. But the Suprima IP backup proved to be seamless! We had no delay and no packet loss. No error, no sound loss, and no interruption – it’s a very stable product. Suprima is No. 1!"

MEET OUR NEWEST MEMBER OF THE IP CODEC FAMILY!

Clients are equally pleased with our RoadWarrior, and MusicamUSA will introduce its latest incarnation, the ultra portable RoadWarrior LC at BroadcastAsia. Much like the current portable IP RoadWarrior, the latest version sports SIP compatibility, multiple algorithm support (including AAC-HE), NAT transverser, and a compact 2 channel mixer/2 channel IFB talkback, but can now establish a connection via Wi-Fi/WiMax and 3G cellular data networks.

"The new RoadWarrior LC offers maximum flexibility to program directors and engineers broadcasting from a remote site regarding connectivity, and as with all IP products in our repertoire, it saves stations the hefty cost of long-distance bills," Sookoo notes. "Our products equip managers with the ability to break programming boundaries and execute multiple broadcasts with simplistic solutions."
Whether you are at the exploration stage of IP or distributing content to a network of affiliates from a remote site, another benefit of MusicamUSA is that it will customize an IP solution tailored to your specific needs, in addition to providing a complimentary education from start to connection!

MUSICAM HAPPENINGS…WE PUT THE ‘IP’ IN VIP ACCESS!!!

Big events call for VIP Access and our Suprimas and RoadWarriors link your audience to all the action! They’ve been many of the most talked about sporting and news events, and when it came to the Pope’s historic visit to New York, 1010 Wins chose the RoadWarrior to broadcast his epic journey from Yonkers to Yankees Stadium.

The Suprima is in China for ATC’s “China Week” from May 19-23th, where several connectivity challenges have arisen due to the powerful earthquake that rocked the region. NPR is using Suprima to broadcasting content via a combination of ISDN and IP.

XM Satellite Radio recently joined our IP family! We’re keen to see how they take broadcasting to new levels with their Suprimas and RoadWarriors. Welcome aboard!
