"Musicam USA units are solid products that deliver, and are backed by an equally solid support team!"

How's your rack? 'Bet you haven't been asked that by too many people lately, but your rack in your master control area is probably bursting at the rails, right?

Between all the computer servers, audio processors, PPM encoders/decoders/monitors, IP/ISDN codecs, and audio routers, it's no wonder your eyes don't roll back in your head like a shark about to attack when your GM asks you to add another codec for an upcoming event. Or worse yet, you cleverly decide to turn off one programming capability so you can use that codec for another feature and after so many days of multitasking mania, you hit yourself on the forehead, realizing you forgot to switch it back and now you need head back to the control room faster than 007 to readjust your gear. Does any of this strike a chord?

Don't worry, Musicam USA understands that rack real estate is precious. And with the onslaught of IP products you either have or have yet to buy, you're going to need a chassis that can manage the job.

Meet our SupriMAX, if you haven't already. Actually, we've designed two - SupriMAX 1U and SupriMAX 3U - to accommodate needs ranging from four to 14 IP/ISDN modules. If you multicast, broadcast various remotes, distribute content, take feeds from multiple affiliates or receive network programming, SupriMAX offers a 'sound' solution.

Compatible with Suprima, RoadWarrior, RoadWarrior LC, and PCip, SupriMAX 1U and 3U provide multitudes of codec capability, as well as centralized cable management and optional fault-tolerant ISDN backup. Plus SupriMAX, combined with today's MPLS circuits, goes beyond the limited T1 barrier (up to twice as fast) with the SupriMAX and MPLS virtual private network. Musicam USA will walk you through setting up the ISDN backup and organizing your chassis. The following are rundowns of SupriMAX 1U and 3U key highlights.

  • "SupriMAX-1U highlights:
    • Configurable and scalable system to optimize link for low delay, jitter, and utilization
    • Modular design: Up to 4 audio IP modules or ISDN backup modules (all hot-swappable)
    • Hot-swappable
    • Redundant power supply optional, so you never lose connectivity
    • Widest range of industry-standard coding algorithms
    • AES/EBU transparent mode over IP: Transportation of data signals such as Dolby E
    • Meets all initial standards for IP compatibility of the EBU group: SIP/SAP/SDP/RTP
    • Optional ISDN/X.21 interface card available for backup purposes
    * AAC and apt-X algorithms optional in Suprima LC

MUSICAM HAPPENINGS...WE PUT THE 'IP' IN 'VIP ACCESS'!!
The 2009 ING NYC Marathon is this weekend, and our RoadWarrior will be relaying every pound of the pavement, huff, and puff to 1010 WINS and CBS 880 AM listeners in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. From there, the restless RoadWarrior heads to election coverage on Tuesday for the NYC mayoral runoff.

We've been getting a surge of calls from Prima codec clients - if you are using one or more Primas, now is the time to make the leap to IP and upgrade to Suprima! It's extremely cost-efficient and an easy transitional solution to IP. If you are a Prima client, call 732-739-5600 today to find out just how simple it is.

Are you a Suprima or RoadWarrior client? Have you downloaded the latest Software Upgrade version 6.1.1? If not, click here, or visit www.musicamusa.com and click on "Support," then click onto either "Suprima Support" and "Suprima Software Upgrades" or "RoadWarrior Support" and "RoadWarrior Software Upgrades." Check out all the latest features such as Forward Error Correction V4 and Error Concealment for MPEG compression algorithms. Don't forget to download the release notes too!
