Greetings and happy New Year! This past year was a busy one for many stations, and as many program directors and engineers look to 2010, the economy remains top of mind. We understand you're being asked to do more with fewer resources, so we made various upgrades to our family of IP codecs to help you manage costs while managing to do more remotes and innovative programming. Musicam USA has been the world leader for IP solutions since 2000, when we introduced the first-ever IP codec. We pride ourselves on solid IP reliability and functionality of our units, so we introduced several features to the Suprima technology to underscore our commitment to delivering just that. Some highlights include:
Configuration presets and streaming parameters (i.e. Rx Buffer and Time-Between-Packets) are now available and can be stored by the user on the front panel, allowing for an easier setup on remotes.
We heard your numerous requests for a portable IP codec with USB/3G wireless capabilities and were thrilled to introduce the RoadWarrior XL in November. This crown jewel of remotes blends the best of our 5-channel RoadWarrior and 2-channel RoadWarrior LC, as it is compact like the LC, but has a 4-channel mixer and features USB modem capabilities a flat control surface to prevent accidental damage and all Suprima technology built inside.
You can broadcast a game with the RoadWarrior XL, mixing audio interaction from a host, co-host, field-spotter/sideline reporters and a locker room reporter. Since the XL runs on the 3G/3.5 G networks, it does not tether you to a wired broadband connection. Hence, your reporters can roam the vast turfs of your broadcast site. Plus we know how cramped some of those press rooms are, so we designed the XL with a small footprint for all tight-fitting quarters at various venues. Check out the RoadWarrior XL's key features. |

Reporters connected via RoadWarrior broadcast the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade spectacular for 1010 WINS in New York City. Live coverage from 7 am to 1 pm detailed every float, from SpongeBob Square Pants to Santa's sleigh, as they strolled down Central Park West and onto Sixth Avenue, finishing at Macy's Herald Square in Manhattan. Listeners who weren't standing along the parade route enjoyed updates at various stops along the way, so as not to miss a character or cheer. The excitement continued on New Year's Eve, as 1010 WINS opted again to utilize the RoadWarrior for its ball-drop broadcast bash. Live coverage in the heart of Times Square enabled listeners to feel as though they were there (without having to endure the cold and sleet). Musicam USA is still amidst upgrading Prima clients to Suprima, which is an easy way to transition to IP (with ISDN backup). If you are a Prima client, call us at 732-739-5600 and we will walk you through every step of the process. It's simple and extremely cost-effective! If you are already a Suprima or RoadWarrior client, don't forget to download the latest software upgrade version 6.1.2 and the release notes.
