Configure ISDN

The NetStar contains a built-in NT-1 and connects directly to the ISDN ‘U’ interface provided in North America. No external NT-1 is required.
Before you can dial or receive an ISDN connection you must enter the following ISDN information: Switch Type, SPID Numbers, and MSN numbers.

Front Panel ISDN Setup

Set Switch Type

  1. From the STATUS screen, press ENTER to go to the MAIN MENU screen.
  2. Press 4 to select CONFIGURE and go to the CONFIG MENU screen.
  3. Press 1 to select Setup Interfaces and go to the CONFIG INTERFACES screen.
  4. Press 2 to select ISDN SETUP and go to the ISDN SETUP MENU screen.
  5. Press DOWN ARROW to delete the current number (if necessary)
  6. Enter the IP address using the number buttons and the # button for periods (.). (Example: 192.168.133.254)
  7. Press 1 to select Switch Type.
  8. Use the UP or DOWN ARROWs to select desired Switch type, and press ENTER.
  9. Press ESC(*) to get back to the ISDN SETUP MENU screen.

Set SPID Numbers

  1. From the STATUS screen, press ENTER to go to the MAIN MENU screen.
  2. Press 4 to select CONFIGURE and go to the CONFIG MENU screen.
  3. Press 1 to select Setup Interfaces and go to the CONFIG INTERFACES screen.
  4. Press 2 to select SPID 1.
  5. Enter the SPID number using the number buttons, and press ENTER.
  6. Press 4 to select SPID 2.
  7. Enter the SPID number using the number buttons, and press ENTER.
  8. Press ESC(*) to get back to the ISDN SETUP MENU screen.
Set MSN Numbers
  1. From the STATUS screen, press ENTER to go to the MAIN MENU screen.
  2. Press 4 to select CONFIGURE and go to the CONFIG MENU screen.
  3. Press 1 to select Setup Interfaces and go to the CONFIG INTERFACES screen.
  4. Press 3 to select MSN (LDN) 1.
  5. Enter the MSN number using the number buttons, and press ENTER.
  6. Press 4 to select MSN (LDN) 2.
  7. Enter the MSN number using the number buttons, and press ENTER.
  8. Press ESC(*) to get back to the ISDN SETUP MENU screen.

Web Control ISDN Setup

Set Switch Type via Web control
From the Configure screen, go to ISDN Setup, switch type and select the appropriate switch type. Click “Apply Changes” located at the bottom of the screen to save your settings.

Set SPID Numbers via Web control
From the Configure screen, go to ISDN Setup, SPID 1 and SPID 2 and enter in the SPID numbers. Click “Apply Changes” located at the bottom of the screen to save your settings.

Set MSN Numbers via Web control
From the Configure screen, go to ISDN Setup, MSN 1 and MSN 2 and enter in the MSND numbers.

Once all of the ISDN settings are set. Click “Apply Changes” located at the bottom of the screen to save your settings
