NetStar Software Upgrades
Directly from MUSICAM USA's FTP Server
It is possible to upgrade your NetStar to the latest revision software
via FTP from either MUSICAM USA's TFTP Server or an TFTP Server on
your Local Network.

Upgrade from MUSICAM USA's FTP Server via Front Panel.
- First, connect your NetStar to the internet and assign an IP address
that is capable of an FTP Download.
To learn how to configure the NetStar's IP
address settings, Click Here.
- Next, from the NetStar's Status screen, press ENTER to go
to the "Main Menu" screen.
- Press 4, for Configure to go to the "Config Menu" screen.
- Press 4, for Software Upgrade.
- Press 2, for TFTP Server IP, and using the
number keypad enter 205.197.242.42 and Press Enter.
- Press 3, for Target Revision, and enter desired Software Revision number.
Example 3.3.1 (Use the '#' key for the '.' dots.)
Note: You can only Upgrade to a revision that is higher than your
current revision.
- Press 4, for Upgrade Now.
- Use the Up arrow to select "Proceed" and press Enter,
the screen will show "Downloading", "Installing", and then
"Upgrade Complete". The NetStar should then restart and show it's
initial Status Screen.
Upgrade is now completed. To verify your version number, go
back to Software upgrade, and look at item #1 "Version".
Upgrade from MUSICAM USA's FTP Server via RS232/Telnet.
- First, connect your NetStar to the internet and assign an IP address
that is capable of an FTP Download.

- Next, from either a terminal emulator or a Telnet client,
type ver upgrade ?
- "Software Upgrade (target_rev,tftp_host_ip)" will be displayed.
- Type ver upgrade 3.3.1, 205.197.242.42 (ENTER)
- The screen will show "Downloading", "Installing", and then
"Upgrade Complete". The NetStar should then restart and display
"Welcome to CCS NetStar version 3.3.1"
Upgrade is now completed. To verify your version number, go
type ver (ENTER), 3.3.1 should be displayed.
